What We’re Spinning: Revolver

I hope this finds everyone well. Perhaps a little soggy, but good nonetheless. I have found nothing better on a chilly, damp Fall evening than some good vinyl. Of course, any weather is good for vinyl…but I digress.
New releases keep stacking up. New stuff from Blue October, Bottle Rockets(hooray!), Tom Morello, Kurt Vile(hooray, hooray!), Jeff The Brotherhood, Sister Sparrow, Colter Wall, Uncle Acid & The Deadbeats, and St. Vincent. As well, I have the soundtrack for “A Star Is Born” in stock. Spun it this morning and got choked up all over again(I’m not crying, you are crying). Oh, I have a very limited number of Soccer Mommy’s 7″ of “I’m On Fire” b/w “Henry”. I can never get enough of Soccer Mommy.
Reminder that I am closing at 5:30 this Friday, October 12th for a private event. Flat Two will be taking the stage and bringing some jazz this Saturday night at 7. Saturday shows have returned! See the events page for further dates.
What I have been listening to…as I type this I am digging into “Carolina Confessions” by The Marcus King Band. I have heard and seen Marcus sit in with other bands, but this is my first listen to his own stuff. Has a nice Memphis sound in parts, and then some great blues riffs in others. His voice does not match the picture of the young man on the sleeve. J.P. Harris’ latest has received multiple spins. Good traditional country with some grit and spit put in there. If Hee-Haw were still on the tube you would find him on there.
Have a couple of ticket giveaways coming up for a show at The Vaudeville Mews and for one at Wooly’s. Tune into social media(Instagram and Twitter @marvsmusicdsm) for further information.
Peace, b
