New Website, New Prince & More

What We’re Spinning: Revolver

I would like to welcome everyone to my new website!  Excited to have this up and much thanks and peace to the good folks at Happy Medium for their help.

New releases this week from Prince, Slash, and Story So Far.  Have been looking forward to this Prince release since some of the songs went out on social media over the Summer.  Black Moth Super Rainbow has reissued “Panic Blooms” on pink vinyl to raise money for Gilda’s Club NYC(providing community support for those diagnosed with cancer and their caretaker’s.  This is the first of these to hit the store and will be followed by several more in the coming weeks.  Although not a new release per se, I have added Ultraphonix, “Original Human Music”, a creation from Corey Glover and George Lynch, produced by Sammy Hagar.  Quite the combination.  Per popular demand, Styx now has their spot in my inventory.  Got 3 of the classics coming in.

Speaking of popular demand, there is nothing I love more than when my guests turn me on to new music and scenes.  A recent recommendation was Joan Shelley’s eponymous release produced by Jeff Tweedy.  Great album.  Perfect for rainy Fall days.  Frightened Rabbit, The Wanton Bishops, and Death Grips have also been brought to my attention.  I love new stuff as well as old stuff I may have missed.  You folks are the best when it comes to this.

For those that follow on Instagram and Twitter(@marvsmusicdsm) you know I took in a Wolfmother show at The Waiting Room in Omaha.  Great venue and an even better show.  Was my first time there and first Wolfmother experience and was blown away.

Great live shows continue to come to Des Moines.  Be on the lookout for ticket giveaways to The Struts, Magpie Salutes, Mothers, and others.  Live music returns to Marv’s starting on 9/28.  Head on over to the Events page for more details

Peace,
