“Why I don’t have a store phone” and new releases from Shooter Jennings, Massive Wagons and Magpie Salute
Dateline East Village, DSM (515) – Greetings to all. Hope everyone that attended Hinterland had a good time. I definitely enjoyed my day down there.
As some of you may have noticed on Instagram, we have a bevy of new releases this week. Shooter Jennings, new jazz from Dave Holland, Robbie Fulks & Linda Gail Lewis, Massive Wagons, Shovels & Rope, and Magpie Salute (opening for Govt. Mule on 8/26 at Brenton Skating Plaza). I also brought in some reggae (hello Toots and The Gladiators) and some more jazz (hello Cannonball, Coltrane, BadBadNotGood, and Miles).
Events in the Shop
Big show this weekend with Lizzy Poppyseed recording a live show on Saturday night at 7. Promises to be a dynamite scene. Reminder, I am open for business during shows so if you see something you want, make sure to purchase it before you leave.
Why I Don’t Have a Store Phone
“What is your phone number?” I am asked that on occasion. You may have noticed when in the store that a phone doesn’t ring and I am rarely on my cell when a customer is in the store. I chose not to have a store line for that reason. I want people in the store to know that they have my attention if needed. If anyone needs to get a hold of me I have e-mail, Twitter, and Instagram. Or better yet, stop by and do the face-to face interaction that I love so much. If attending the Fair, be safe and eat as much as you need to.
